The Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Specialty Interest Group (SIG) advances the field of cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular ultrasound while enhancing patient care in both hospital and outpatient settings. By focusing on innovation, education, and quality improvement, this SIG significantly contributes to ASE’s mission and goals. It aims to drive substantial advancements in the use of POCUS, ultimately establishing it as the standard of care for a wide range of patients. From hospitalized individuals requiring guidance on fluid management and acute decompensated heart failure to those seen in clinics by primary care physicians, pulmonologists, family doctors, and other specialists, POCUS has the potential to transform diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
All ASE members who utilize POCUS across various clinical domains—including outpatient care, pediatric/family medicine, emergency/urgent care, acute inpatient care, intensive care, and subspecialties—are encouraged to join this SIG.
The leadership of the POCUS SIG will be announced soon. In the meantime if you have any questions about this SIG, please email SIGS@ASEcho.org.
