FASE, Training & Certification Advisory Committee

Charge(s):

• Review proposals or changes in education, certification, or training guidelines regarding registry of sonographers and/or credentialing of physicians who provide cardiovascular services and address as they would impact the FASE status or change specialty status (including ACC’s Advanced Training Document or CoA-ACS standards for advanced sonographers).
• Review and approve occasional FASE candidates when staff is unclear about whether a member meets the defined FASE criteria.
• Act as Ambassadors to promote FASE (e.g., promoting FASE in presentations, at own institution). An annual goal is 120 new FASE per year.
• Actively recruit peers to apply for FASE.
• Define criteria for new pathways when appropriate and make recommendations to executive committee about new pathways for FASE.
• Recommend methods to promote the FASE designation in external environments.
• Participate in annual Call-A-thons to help with FASE retention.
• Participate in Face to FASE Q&A sessions during Scientific Sessions
• 2024-2025: Consider idea’s around the membership drive for the 50^th and FASE.
