The 34th Annual Scientific Sessions in National Harbor, Maryland, June 23-26, will focus on cardiovascular ultrasound as foundational to cardiovascular practice, while also examining the exciting future of the field. ASE is committed to providing our members with the tools and resources they need to ensure coding accuracy and compliancy, and to maximize appropriate revenue. Log in to the ASE Member Portal and access the 2023 Coding Connection document under the “Advocacy” tab.

This free resource provides answers to echocardiography specific billing and assists you in coding accurately for the services you provide, especially in today’s environment of declining reimbursement and increased scrutiny. This newsletter includes information on recent coding updates for echocardiography services, evaluation and management services, Medicare split/shared visit changes, and ASE’s top 10 coding questions and answers.

ASE provides member-only access to coding information and a coding expert who is available to answer individual coding questions free of charge.

The Canadian Society of Echocardiography (CSE) is working with the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography (JASE) Editorial Team to present a live podcast discussing the May 2023 JASE Article The Impact of Sonothrombolysis on Left Ventricular Diastolic Function and Left Atrial Mechanics Preventing Left Atrial Remodeling in Patients With ST Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction.

Attendees can watch and listen to the live, collaborative podcast on Thursday, June 15, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM ET on Zoom. Speakers representing CSE and JASE will join in the online discussion. Attendees are eligible to receive Royal College MOC credits and no registration is required to attend.

September 30 – October 1, 2023

Calling all Sonographers: Save the date for the 2nd Annual Echo in Pediatric & Congenital Heart Disease Virtual Experience! This two-day virtual course will take place September 30 – October 1, 2023, and contain echo-specific education for the pediatric community.

Learn about established and emerging cardiovascular ultrasound technologies, clinical care, and practical considerations in children and adults with congenital heart disease. Registration will open June 2023, and participants can earn up to 12 CME credits.
