ASE Leadership Participates in the Fourth World Congress on Ultrasound in Medical Education

ASE’s leadership took an active role in the Fourth World Congress on Ultrasound in Medical Education held September 23-25, 2016. The Congress was hosted by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. Neil Weissman, MD, FASE, presented an adapted version of his Scientific Session’s presentation “The Future of Echocardiography: Disruptor of Disrupted?” to an engaged audience. Susan Wiegers, MD, FASE, ASE’s Immediate Past President, represented ASE on a panel discussion regarding POC in medical education and clinical care with a presentation on important research areas to be addressed. She also attended several meetings to discuss ASE’s POC ultrasound initiatives and worked with other organizations to promote and nurture the growth of educational offerings. These efforts are in alignment with ASE’s strategic goals to attract all users of cardiovascular ultrasound and facilitate the development of CV ultrasound technology.
