Bylaws change notification

A number of changes to the ASE bylaws have been proposed by the executive committee and are now available online for review and comment by the membership. Most of these changes are simply to reflect the use of new technology and the new structure of the Society's offices. Please review the changes online. These changes will be available to the membership for comment for 30 days, and unless contested will then be put forward to the board of directors for ratification.

Interested in Working on an ASE Committee?

ASE's leadership would like interested members to apply for open positions! Most standing committees have a third of their membership rotate off every year, and new working groups are instituted annually. The new committee and task force positions will begin in June 2009. The deadline for application submission is February 17, 2009.

Executive Committee Nominations Sought

ASE is seeking nominations for the following officers: the Vice President; Treasurer; Secretary. The term of office will begin in June of 2009. The deadline for nominations is January 16, 2009.

The Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for six (6) directors to serve for a term of three (3) years. The term of office will begin in June of 2009. The deadline for nominations is January 16, 2009.

ASE 2009 Abstract Submission is Now Open!

ASE invites all investigators to submit abstracts of original work to be considered for presentation at its 20th Annual Scientific Sessions in Washington, DC. Submission is free of charge and presenters are eligible for reduced registration fees and travel grant support of up to $1,000 to attend the meeting and present their work. The deadline for submission is January 9, 2009.

Now Accepting Proposals for the 2009 ASE Research Awards!

Awards will be funded for one year beginning July 1, 2009. Submission closes on Monday, January 19, 2009.
